Welcome!

Hi, my name is Julie Johnson (she/her), and I am so glad you are here. Whether you are experiencing an especially difficult season or just want to learn more about why you get caught in painful repetitive cycles, it takes courage to seek out help.

Many of us were raised with the unspoken belief that we should just know how to do certain things and shouldn’t really need any help; we should just know how to do friendship, dating, work, marriage, parenting. We can feel inadequate and alone when we experience struggles. The truth is that we are biologically wired to need others and our lives are lighter and more meaningful when we have others who see us and know us. Some problems require more expertise than others, but every transformative encounter is rooted in mutual trust and respect. I consider it a profound honor to get to be part of my clients’ healing journeys.

Research shows that a a safe and empathic relationship is the key factor in any effective therapy; therefore, it is crucial that you find the right therapist for you. Please take time to read through my website, and if it resonates, I offer a free 30 minute phone consultation to see if we are a good fit.

“It is a joy to be hidden, and disaster not to be found.”

Why Fiddle Leaf?

First of all, I am a plant lover. I love taking care of and propagating plants of all kinds, but I have a special place in my heart for these quirky fiddle leaf fig trees. Did you know that the only way to cause them to branch out is to cut their tops off, and the top can be rooted and become a new tree? Now this may not be a perfect metaphor because no one is advocating for intentionally causing harm, but I love this image of resilience. When difficult things happen we can learn to branch too. It is awe-inspiring to be in the presence of those who have allowed their woundedness to become their gift to the world. It is because of my own woundedness that I have come to this work. Fiddle leaf figs also just make me happy!
